For those lead foots I noticed the Boys in Blue are using new Camry sedans for speed cameras so the days of louvre back window commodes that stand out is over it seems
Saw this faux MK1 GTI at my local shops the other day (pic from DOVW). Has the later big tail lights, but 4 doors. There's a few MK1s lurking out there still.
Saw a pale blue mk1 5-door this morning on anzac hwy in Glenelg as i was leaving my hotel to work.
Was dumped, had chromies, and black steelies with chrome caps. Looked sweet!

BTW, I saw another mk1 5-door at the kfc in glenelg. Was yellow, lowered with roofracks. Had some rust repairs on the doors.

Ha! I hardly see any! The ones I've seen recently are all reported here - no I lie - I saw a MK1 Cabby on I think NE Road last Sunday. Apart from that, they're very few and far between in my experience.
