Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • A big shout-out to the boys at Peerless Automotive. (S E Melbourne)

I've had some issued with the door locks on my Mk5 TDI. Had tried to fix it myself but had given up due to my banana fingers being too short & stubby.
Gave them a call and spoke about the problem, they were pleasant on the phone. Ran it down there, we talked about the issue, they said they would give me a call once the issue was identified and confirmed. They gave ma a call about 60-90mins later, confirmed the problem and quoted a price. Price was reasonable, a little less than expected actually, which is nice. Confirmed a pick-up time, called them later as I was about to leave to make sure the car was ready.
Arrived, price was what we agreed and the Golf was right to go.
The real difference was the service, the better half had been using the golf to cart around hay, there was hay everywhere and a fair bit of mud around. I don't think I have seen my Golf look so nice in years, they had vacuumed out all the hay and cleaned both the inside and out.
Great job fellas, I really appreciated the effort you put in.
