Hello all.
Just had my outer roof replaced on my Mk1 Cabrio by a bloke (Stuart) in Brisbane working at All Car Interiors.
I supplied the parts (roof & cabling) I bought online from M & T Manufacturing in the US. The shop installed the roof. I paid $560 for installation but there are two things that set him out:
1. Just by talking to him in the preceding weeks I noticed he had an understanding of this car and the issues around installation of a new roof.
2. When I picked the car up he showed me the work, pointed out a few of the challenges he had (especially around the bottom area around the C pillars) and explained what to expect as the roof settled in.
The car looks good and the roof is a perfect fit.
Sadly in this era of disposable commodities, the need for craftsmen like this is dwindling, so alas I probably won't see him for many years, but I would highly recommend the work done.
