  • Car Audio Installer in Melbourne (South East Suburbs)?

    Hey guys,

I've recently purchased a 12" Rockford Fosgate sub, mono block amp, 8g wiring kit and a line converter to run the amp off my stock head unit.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a reputable installer in the south-east that is reasonably priced to install my system. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Reason for not installing it myself is that the car is still covered under new car warranty and would prefer a professional to install it so that I have a warranty on the install should something go haywire.

    Cheers.

Not sure if you found a place, but I've been going to Performance Car Audio for the last 10 years, he works on the majority of my cars and has done some huge installs for me. Its in Bayswater.

I find performance car audio is ok, as long as you buy from him, when you bring your own stuff it can be ruff,
I got a head unit put in years ago that I purchased from jb, and I found rubbish such as loose electrical tape and wire trimming behind the headunit when I later added amps.

May have been just a once off bad experience, but I have only done my own now so I can be sure that it was done right.

PPA car audio in Bentleigh, I had Eugene install some stuff in an old car of mine and he did an awesome job. I'm also pretty sure they come out to you for installs, I know they used to

You should really give it a go yourself, you get more satisfaction that way. Not sure what warranty you would get with it being your own equipment anyway, if they break something during install, chances are it will be hidden from you

I can give you a hand if you like, they really aren't too hard to install and set up. I'm in the northern suburbs though

I did manage to find carstereoinstall.com.au who came out to my house and installed the gear very neatly and professionally, Craig was great and even gave me some tips on what headunits etc to run later on when I have the spare coin.

Gee that does sound a bit dodgy, I really didn't want to travel out so far, especially being in year 12 (which I finished yesterday, let the mods begin!).

This was an interesting one, I messaged PPA for a quote as they installed in my friends XR6. They wanted nearly $400 to install the gear, and were listing things that when I mentioned to my installer, he replied "Bullsh*t" and it's true, because the sub is in and working perfectly and it was only $120 for Craig to come out.

Thanks for the offer. I got a lifetime workmanship warranty on the install, as well as the 1 year warranty on my supplied gear. If something does go haywire, CSI (Lol) will come out and check it out and tell me whats wrong, for free! Can only say good things about CarStereoInstall.com.au as they did a great job, very impressed, and Craig even turned up in a Caddy, so my confidence was high from the beginning!
