Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Repair work replacement Head light.

    Hi, I had to have my passenger side headlight replaced on a My08 Passat wagon, was done under Insurance.
    Instead of using a Genuine VW replacement they have installed a Valeo Headlight. Can I ask them to use a Genuine VW head light.
    They have provided a receipt stating that it is a genuine VW headlight.

    Valeo makes a lot of headligts for Volkwagen.

    If it's genuine, somewhere on it will be the familiar VW logo.

      Lol as per VW australia GENUINE parts may be provided by VW Australia from Valeo as it is an OEM. So I dont have a leg to stand on, ergo I shall quietly take a seat
