I'm interested in the upcoming CC model, but a question which is on my mind is which VW dealership do you think would be the best to deal with. I've heard some stories about customers not being fully satisfied, so I'd like to know what more experienced people think about who would be the best to deal with. Cheers.

I bought my Jetta and my fiance's Polo from South Yarra VW in October last year.. Picked my Jetta in Nov 2011 and my Fiance's Polo in Feb 2012. The overall experience was alright but I would NOT recommend them. I did most of the calling and chasing up with ETA's, model changes with the Polo etc. Communication was rather poor most of the time and towards the end of the whole process I felt like they were doing us a favour more than anything..
However, I did go to VW Camberwell to do some mods and repair on my Jetta and the overall experience was much much better..
Unfortunately, I can't really recommend a dealership for purchasing but I can recommend a dealership for servicing instead - VW Camberwell.MY12 147TSI Jetta DSG | CW | Sports Pack | Sunroof | Driver Electric Seat | RCD510 | Formula 1 Tint | MFSW Paddle Shifters

I also changed to Camberwell to service, and they were always great to deal with.

I dont think you are going to get the answer you are looking for.
Over the years I have dealt with several dealerships with varying degrees of love/hate relationships. In the end YOU have to be happy with what's going on in your situation.
Something to remember is that people move around in the industry too... so someone's experience years ago will not relate today unless all of the same people are still there.
i have bought from Werribee, dealt with Essendon, Ferntree Gully, Camberwell & Geelong. My last two purchases have been from Geelong, but I get my cars serviced by a specialist and warranty work done at Werribee.
Some will have good service people and crappy sales... or vice versa... so all I would suggest is shop around and check out each one.
Good luck.1974 1300 Beetle, 1997 Golf GL, 2003 New Beetle Cabrio, 2014 Audi A4 quattro

Thanks for the replies so far. I've gathered some information. I do live closest to the South Yarra dealership, however it looks like the after-sales service is a bit lacking. Camberwell looks to be the best of the dealerships closest to me. If I lived closer to Ferntree Gully then I would probably use Burwin, however it's probably too far away.
It's still good to hear which dealership people think is the best in Melbourne though.Last edited by thegman; 11-05-2012, 11:57 AM.

I have bought a few new vw's from Barloworld in Mulgrave. I work for 7-Eleven Hq right around the corner so it happens to be the most convenient also. Experience was okay on both occasions (Mk5 GTI ex-Demo and MK6 brand spanker), salesman was good, service department was okay too nothing to argue with, installed the options i wanted, had to beat off the lady trying to sell all the 'ming' gear with a stick.. "NO... i dont want your overpriced tint, paint protection and fabic protections, I am quite capable of ringing tint-a-car and grabbing a few cans of scotchguard myself thanks"... Parts department were a little sour puss though, not overly helpful and have given me a few bum steers in the past on my 6N but they're capable if you give them the part number u want and dont want a discount...My Car(s): 2011 6R TSI Comfortline (Pepper Silver),
If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

Im in the Provinces and tried to buy through Essendon(disorganised),Barlowworld Moorabbin (a bit shifty),Sth Yarra- where i bought (combination). I think Burwin FTG has won consisitent Vw awards and customer satisfaction so if i was in the market to buy i would definately not rule out a dealer by distance for purchase. For service however i would definately stay independent!Current:12 Golf GTD, Mods on order -Bluefin Remap, Mods planned-plenty
Former:08 GT Sport TDI DSG Bluefin, HPA SHS Coilovers,H&R Swaybars with Whiteline Adj Links

Over the past few years I have dealt with Barloworld Moorabbin and Glen Waverley, Werribee, South Yarra, Peninsula VW and Burwin and I would rate them as follows:
Service - Burwin best by far, then Barloworld Glen Waverley
Sales - Barloworld Glen Waverley closely followed by Burwin.Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional !
