    Wow, how'd you do it? Looks like the corner of a white painted wall or carpark pillar to me, and generally you hit them.... Jeez, no idea how much man, do you not have insurance?

          Might be an idea to get a bumper with reverse sensors fitted seeing as the bumper needs to be replaced

            Factory RVC = $500. That damage >= $1000.

              I would not recommend them. They are not that good. I've seen their work.
              I'd recommend Jack Hillermans Smash Repair in Artarmon instead - they are just down the road at 32 Whiting St Artarmon.
              Speak to Stephen (Manager) and mention that you are from the VW forums. He has done quite of number of GolfmkV member cars and comes highly recommended. i.e. He doesn't need to paint adjacent panels to blend the affected panel. Costs are cut down because of that and you don't have two additional panels painted for nothing. I had warranty work done thru Jack Hillermans. VWA approved the work to be done with them -just insist on it.

                The bar will have to be replaced and a new one painted to match. It will definately cost more than the $500 excess which you should not have to pay if you are not at fault. I'd get your insurance company to speak to the insurance of the person who hit you.

                        Most of the indent will come out very easy, a hair dryer on hot will make the plastic bumper flexible, if you can get your hand up behind the part thats pushed in and push out, or you could take off the whole bumper and heat it and most will pop easily out .
