  • classic VW chatswood servicing.

    Hi team.
Still waiting for the arrival of the jetta.
Still learning heaps from this site.
looking at others experiences with the servicing department at Chatswood VW.
I'm in a good situation i can have my car serviced in Newcastle,Central Coast,
    or Chatswood.
Out of five VW dealers my experience with the sales at chatswood has been
the best and would like to give there servicing a go. would appreciate some
feedback but also understand the legal aspect of libel comments.
    Neil.

i've been using CCC at artarmon for 2 years or so with my Bora and can recommend them to the point that they haven't made any mistakes. i can't comment on the costs however because i haven't serviced a VW anywhere else

Dont go near Newcastle........ Very poor product knowledge, disinterested & very slow...... I think there may be the usual V8 mentality there.

I have taken my car there for a couple of services although usually go to Derek @ European Autotech in Mona Vale.

Ive gone to CCC for warranty work or when i needed to for convenience sake as i work about 2kms from there. Everytime they have been professional, on time and did what they said they would do and did it well. They do charge a lot more than say someone like Derek though.

For me I would choose someone with intricate VW knowledge like Derek although if you have to go to a Dealer, they are decent.

i went to ccc to get a quote for the to fix my instrument cluster and they said $1500, then i ended up going to a local auto electricion and he did it for $430, so they're very expensive but they probably do a really good job.

                I disagree

I use Kloster VW in Newcastle, and they're product knowledge has been great. Have you delt with them before? They're very personable, helpful, and on more then one occasion have got above and beyond the call of service.

Pm me if you have questions about them, I can explain more....

The only time I spoke to CCC was to ask about timing belt change on the T4 I had just purchased. They wouldn't tell me anything & just hid behind privacey laws---not impressed. When I spoke to my dealer about it they said given the same circumstances they would try & help.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

last time i spoke with CCC

the salesman wouldn't give me their best price on a Polo GTI without first me giving him my Credit Card number.

                          needless to say, i didn't ....

got my Polo from CCC, were negotiable on price....

just got my DSG service there and were helpful enough, have got to know a couple of the service guys there, i think that helps. They are pretty busy a lot of the time so can see why some of the service levels may drop...for service i still say go to a Derek or a Seb of you can....is just too far out the way for me these days.

My friend have been a loyal customer of the service centre (artarmon), they provide pickup and drop off from and to the train station, a better than nothing complimentary car wash.

My golf had a health chk done(last december) at the same place under her recommendation, got into the car, found out they forgot to reset the service warning, then checked outside of car body, fine.. no scratches... drove off at around 5pm , got stuck in traffic on the bridge towards city, got the chance to look around inside the car, found finger prints on the upholstery (they come off easily with a damp cloth and a bit of rubbing) and whats worse is a cut on the sun visor, 3-4mm cut... rang the office straight away, outside office hours, why not... sent them an email after i got home, bounced back with invalid address even though i have used the given on their card... drove back first thing in the next morning, complained to the service consultant, he then took a look and insisted the cut has nothing to do with them, they don't take tools in to a car when doing health check... wow, i asked him what about the sticker on the windscreen, surely they used some sharp tools to take it off.. and when they're peeling the sticker with one hand , the other one holding the sharp tool leanded towards the sunvisor... and he even asked me "a u trying to blame this on us?" , i replied all i am saying is it wasn't there when i brought in the car for the health check, then he tried to get away saying he had a lot of customers have similar problems, crack by itself(what a cracker, for a new car?)... they will get a guy from the volkswagen office to come for an inspection... said he'll call back in a month time (coz everyone's on holiday), waited till the end of january... no call as expected, called him a couple more times, reception said he's in a meeting or at somewhere doing something else, will get him to call back, of coz after a few more calls to the reception --- he returned my call, said no response from the head office yet, still waiting blablabla, and will call them again to chase up for me... here i am in March 2008, and still no call even though i've left him messages to call me again... i must be too busy of a man to get to on a phone or he's just trying to ignore the case here... calling their office again and will ask for the head office's no. this time... searched on the net and no luck finding the head office's telephone no. .... better to get your car serviced in the early morning so you can have time to scan thru ya car and look for any problems
