  • Maxscan VAG405 Service tool..

    Hey guys,

thought I'd try and contribute to your forum a little and maybe help someone out.

I saw this scanner online for 86 US dollars from an online store. I've bought quite a few things from them so I know they're reliable.

    Here's the link; http://focalprice.com/Maxscan_Vag405...29B_10833.html

Interesting mate, and the fact yuou have used them is good. I personally have a fully licenced VAGCOM but this looks like an ok cheapie, only really reads and erases mind you. Very basic in that respect but what can you get for the money????? Wonder if they have any generic vehicle scanners that do all that this does???
    Cheers for the link

VChecker does everything that reg'd VAGCOM does including keyfob learning and changing settings etc. onyl thing you cant do is physically log data.

Yeah V checker is a really good thing. I love my Vagcom for some of the indepth stuff i do, but Vchecker for sure if you want to change some central locking settings etc its tops for the money. For the other marques im after a general scannner similar to V checker would be great!! As you know most of the big names start at around $6000
        cheers

VagCom is definitely the goer for indepth for sure, especially for logging data!

You could alternatively speak to a local vw/audi specialist and see what they can do for you as well, im sure it wouldnt be free however wouldnt be as ridiculous as VW itself!
