Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • dent repair (not paintless) in perth

hi, can anyone recommend a place or someone that can do dent repairs in Perth? north or south is fine.. i live north and work south.
i'm not sure how much fixing something like this would cost.. but im doing so i can sell the car before i get my vw (unless it's too expensive).
it can't be paintless.. because i've rung around a few and they won't touch it when it has paint damage.

    cheers.

Possibly looking at a filler + spray roof job there....nowhere to blend the paint! If you tell a paintless place that you aren't concerned about the paint around the dent, I think they'd be ok with it. Most are cautious about that to avoid law suits from liars 'claiming' the paint was fine beforehand.

do you reckon it'll be cheaper to go to a panel beater to do this, or to do the paintless repair + paint after?
overall.. any ball park figure of how much repairs like this cost? i'm always wary that the seemingly small repairs in difficult areas can result in the most unpleasant and surprising costs.
