Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • How long do vw dealers keep your contact details, well I can tell you.....

I got an email a few days ago from a vw dealer salesperson thanking me for my recent enquiry about a new car.

Now the last and only time I contacted that dealer was over 10 years ago when I was still deciding what to buy.
I ended up going to that dealer but did not buy from them after they would not give me a test drive, thats another story.

So I replied back thanking them for their email and that the last time I made contact with them was over 10 yeas ago and
the reason why I did not buy from them and how I have not recommended them to family and friends , It was like I have
been talking to a computer because I got a reply back thanking me once again and if they could help in anyway in the future
    to please contact them.

My Jetta is 10 years old on the 3rd November.

You're lucky. When I wanted to buy 2 cars $85,000 worth I went to several dealers in Brisbane. None had any stock but would ring me when they did. Well have had the two cars for 7 years now off a totally different dealer and the phone hasnt ever rung from any of the others. Nor has the one I bought off rang to see if i want to upgrade. VW 's must be selling well. LOL

Yep I'm still waiting on that call when the 147 first Gen tiguans get released from Barloworld in Melbourne. That was the sales manager. Since then I've bought 3 cars and sold the one I bought instead of the Tig, RS Octy which was a far nicer car anyway but good to see they are on top of things.
