Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • PERTH: Euro Plate Holders

Hey guys, got some euro plates ready to pick up and not keen on drilling.

Was going to use the outdoor double sided tape on the MK7 R but perhaps a bracket is better.

Where in Perth can you get one of these?

All of our standard Euro plates ship with a FREE mounting frame but you may also order an extra one if needed. No need to drill holes in the frame, installs easily on any car! Has hole patterns to match most existing mounting locations you may have in your bumper. This frame only fits plates 4.4 inches high x 20.5 inch

Back in VIC, VIC Roads sold them, WA seems difficult to source

Have you had a look at the Lakin plates? Was going to get them until I found my dealer no longer drilled plates as they have a new holder for euro cars now.

Lakin is definitely the go to.

I still have a Mk7 rear Euro bracket and Euro plate covers that will never be re-used going cheap.

It's not that big a deal drilling is it? I mean they're just plates. In any case it's only a couple of hundred bucks to remake a set of euro plates at most so it's not exactly a budget buster.........
