You shouldn't need to transfer the rego to yourself in nsw. Just complete the the transfer of ownership forms and drive back to qld. Once back here then you will need your roadworthy done and register the vehicle in qld.

If you havent registered the change of ownership the prev owner will get any fines and problems if you have an accident on the way home
