Interesting read, and agree but I do love a good piece of steak!
Another point mentioned in the article is deforestation, however the effects of this on climate change are not really covered. This is a much more serious problem and one that is probably now irreversible!

That would reduce protein intake to a point where human physical and mental development is severely hampered. Bad idea.
There are plenty of ways to maintain (more than) sufficient dietary intake including protein without needing the current beef/lamb/pork/chicken farming practices that we currently have. You'll note I used the term "limit" not "ban".
Even taking a more community based approach to farming & food distribution rather than the cyurrent hub & spoke approach would be beneficial.

Tackle the real issue first, to many people on the planet !! The pollies wont say anything about this because the western world uses a population increase model for the system to work. Defeat that mentality then you have a real starting point to build from.

You're braver than me, to say it openly and you're 100% right.
Unless they have a plan on reducing the world's population as well, then I can't take any climate change discussion seriously.
I agree Miro - there's more to climate change than mechanical monsters.
If we were really serious we'd:
Stop the use of bunker oil & make the ocean going fleet clean up their act with cleaner power plants.
Stop tourism based aircraft flights.
Limit the sheep / cattle / chicken population
Reduce deforestation.
Add to all this, the Chinese solution. Only one child permitted per family. (Reduce overpopulation?)
But now relaxed as economy improved, heavy pollution, massive increase in cars on road.
