Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • "That's what bumpers are for!"

So I found out today that bumper bars are on cars so when you parking you can use them to hit other peoples cars.
Young bloke at work comes up to me and say's I better go check my car as it looks like the car in front of it has hit it.
I walk out the front and low and behold there is a VS Commodore wagon parked up against the front bumper.
I say to the thing of a woman sitting in the drivers seat, "excuse me, do you realise you have hit my car".
To which she replied "I didn't hit your car, I just parked here, I didn't hit your car."
I say, "your car is on my car, you've hit it get out and have a look."
Many more "I didn't hit your car, I didn't, blaa blaa blaa"
I say "get the **** out of the car and have a look".
Some meth head looking tool gets out and walks around the back and see's it and says,
"That's what bumper bars are for"
He then tells her to get in the car and drive off.
He jumps in the car and I walk around the front to get the license plate and he then jumps out and starts threatening me.
The usual, I'll ****in kill you ****, I'll smash yah, I'll go and get my car type dribble.
Then he jumps in the car and they go.
Damage is minimal (couple of scratches) but I lodged it with the police so I could get her details in case there is any damage
to it that I can't see without removing the bumper.

There are a lot of ****ed up people in this world who just don't have a clue what's right and wrong.

Sorry to hear about your trouble, I have seen this kind of thing before where they keep driving until they make contact with the bumpers as if its ok to touch other peoples stuff.

Sometimes I wish it was legal to end people like that.

Just call your insurance, give them the details and police report, then they will cover your damage and chase the owners of the VS for the cost.

Funny thing about the police reports.
As of yesterday in NSW the rules have changed.
I gave the police there rego, they rang them and got the drivers details.
But they don't give "reports" or case numbers anymore.
It is between me, the cocks who hit the car and the insurance company

Wow that sucks. But i'm not surprised, police don't even seem interested in accidents even when the other driver does not have a license. However if your going 5km/h over the limit on a freeway they are more than happy to help out. :p
