Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Apartment Sliding gate additional remote programming

    Hi all,

    Just wondering if anyone has come across programming an extra remote for a sliding gate.
    My apartment has a sliding gate and I was just quoted by strata that it will cost $220 for an extra remote. How ridiculous lol.

    The gate model is:
    FAAC 844 ER Z16

    I've looked through the manual online and trying to find out if there's any info, but squat.

    So if anyone has ever done it, then if love to know.

      hmm I'm sure they don't sell instructions lol
      to be a bit clearer, I want to get some spare remotes so I can reprogram them

        I didnt mean they did U said u wanted some remotes and there are heaps on Ebay

        look on ebay to buy learning remotes and your gates manual should have how to program them. There is usually a button on the motor to put it into programming mode. Otherwise ring the maker or agent and ask them. Any decent serviceman should know how to program them.

            If you enter the full model number into google there is lots of info about them including the manufacturers phone number on one site called Gate Openers Direct. Dont want to do all the work for you. LOL

              Hmmm. Good luck finding something.
              I have/had the same issue re getting a remote fir my complex as $130 is a bit much for a simple 9 ch device. Im just sticking with opening with the key. Only a PITA when it rains.
              I couldn't find anything on ebay either.

                Look up Homelink garage door openers. NOt sure if they work here though.

                Its a FAAC kit?

                I am betting that all residents have slave remotes... so you can prgram a new one off them.
