Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I receive a lot of paypal payments and find it really convenient.
However, I also spend a lot using paypal and never have to pull the funds down into a bank account which I think is where a lot of the angst about fees comes from.
The reality of it is though that the merchant fees on cards or paypal are about the same.
It's just that Joe public who only sells one or two thing on e-bay doesn't understand the concept of merchant fees.
If I was opening an on-line store I'd definitely have paypal in the line up. I'd also have a means to take credit cards over the phone for people afraid of web transactions.
It depends a bit on which demographic you're selling to but a goal of any business has got to be to take as much money from as many people as possible.79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car

And don't forget from a buyer's perspective Paypal is convenient and more trusted compared to say handing over CC details - especially for a small shop/website where the online security could be lacking. I know I've aborted ordering things before when Paypal wasn't an option.
