Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

How does one stop the service reminder from hogging the MFD and allowing NOTHING else to be displayed?

I've booked the service for June 23, only now that it has come to 500 km left (more than enough), I have the service reminder displayed in the MFD and nothing else can be displayed.

Can this be turned off without booking an additional service?

I mean, it's quite useless. It first started on the weekend, but despite having driven around 20 km, it still displays 500 km left. The number of days is counting down, but not the km.

As a result, there's none of the pages of information, and no digital speedometer. I can't think of a more useless display.

    Thanks.

    Reset it.

It'll be in the MFD menu under 'Service'.

Is Caddy the 'old method' ? No MFD function. If memory serves correct and it doesn't have the MFD service menu.

      1. Ignition off.
      2. Hold trip reset button till screen lights up and trip says 0.
      3. Turn ignition on, while still holding trip reset button MFD should go straight to the saying "service now"
      4. Let go of trip reset button, quickly press 'set' button to the left.

      Wallah, magic.

Thanks for that. If only it had a reset option on the screen itself.

I'll give it a go when I head off for work this morning.

        Thanks.
