  • dealer driver gives my gti a QUICK sprint

Went in for a door trim fix up. Came out fine.

This morning I wanted to increase the volume of my dashcam and clicked on a random 3min video recording to check the system was still working okay. I was a little surprised to see how enthusiastic this Lennock Motors car minder was with his right foot...

Edit...sound doesnt come though on the embeded link....try this direct YouTube link to hear the boot going in...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmEK6gQyvP0

...even more suprising was the audio recording of a later clip where the technician was replacing my door trim. Very f¥N€king colourful!!!!

You would think the obviously-placed dash cam would stop that sort of thing.

Perhaps a word with their service manager might be the go?

62km in a 50km zone ! Send that to the police and see what happens.
Also mounting the curb to park on the dirt, that is a bit risky in a GTI.
Was the engine hot or cold at that point ?

Could be worse - park brake turns on the grass or gravel.

Now do tell us how you drive it, personally I treat mine a lot worse than that, once warm.

But it makes a difference when its me driving my car, I would not be impressed and would have quite a few words with the service manager.

Engine was warm. I was still around the front at the reception area. The kerb antics worried me too. Ill check the rims in the daylight. Not f!ing impressed with Mr. Lennocks boot boys

You should definitely report this to the manager (not the service manager), but then you should be looking for a different servicing dealer. Basically, you have seen what they do here, you have no idea what they have done on other occasions.

If it were me, I would be reporting it to VW as this is not proper treatment.

I know that some dealers will use customer vehicles to run errands and there have been instances where customers have received bills for tolls when all the vehicle went in for was a routine service.

Wow. Sure hope they treat my vRS more gently than that.

Put a dashcam in mate. Very enlightening experience.

Lol, sounds like pretty normal (possibly slightly more bogan) male **** talk to me.

They're not in a customer facing role. If they do their jobs properly and work well there isn't much of a problem.

The hooning earlier is interesting but it doesn't seem to be abusive.

Sometimes we're better off not knowing certain things. In future I wouldn't put a dash cam in the car and leave it recording (just for the sake of my own sanity).

In Canberra we only have 2 dealers. Ive taken mine to both and the other one is even more useless than the one sVWatt has shown. I took my car to the other dealer and they couldn't find/fix any of the rattles I told them about only to drive away with the rattles still there.

I recently went to the place shown to fix a squeaking seat and it took them 3 days to fix (god knows why..?) and they scratched my paint in 3 places (down to the metal) whilst taking the seats out.

                      Absolutely ridiculous IMO.

I used to thrash the cars much worse than that when I was on the tools.

My language hasn't improved either - which is interesting in an open plan office. I guess that's why the boss says "You can take the boy out of the workshop but you can't take the workshop out of the boy".

I think your all a bit precious.

Weekend trips to sydney in the future?

Mate saw a mates bike being flogged around the streets while it was at a shop getting serviced.

Yup, limited choice. I agree on your comments...dealer one is hopeless, a real shocker of a sub standard service. Dealer two has been great. Just surprised at apprentice driver using the back street as a mini race track.

I laughed at the technicians talking, not for the colourful language, but for the way they expressed their admiration for the RNS510.
