Hey Everyone, not been very active on here recently, but things have been hectic with business.
I’m posting because I would like the help of some VW/Audi owners to help make an entry into the Just Car Insurance Reel Deal competition. You can read the details here - {{ metaTitle }} but basically it’s making a video advertisment for the company and I’d like to use some of the best examples of modified VAGs that Australia has to offer.
What am I looking for?
Anyone who likes the idea of working with me to get some footage of their car to potentially promote Just Car Insurance, as well as having copies of all the raw footage, a few beers and a lot of fun with other VW owners. I’m looking for a variety of VAG’s – up to 10 cars, in reality 6-7 will probably make the cut, but I want to film a variation first. Your cars must be tastefully modified, unfortunately this is more about aesthetics than performance, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want epic engine bay shots.
Why me?
I own my own video production business in Albury-Wodonga – I’ve been working in television for close to a decade and have had clients across the globe i.e. BSKYB, BBC, 7 Network, and I have produced ads for online and broadcast. I’m familiar with every aspect of ad production, from shooting/editing, to legal and classification. Oh yeah and I’m an award-winning photographer, so I’m okay behind a camera
but I’m also a massive VAG fan, I’ve never owned anything else - I want your cars on TV/Online!
What cars do I want?
• MK4-5-6 Golf – GTI/R/R32
• A wagon – (already mentally short-listed Josh Cogs Passat Wagon if he’s down)
• A coupe (I’ve got a MKII TT for this, unless I can find someone with a TTS or better?)
• A 4WD – Already have a MY13 Q7 S-line here, but if you can improve please let me know.
• A VW and an Audi sedan – Bora/Jetta/Passat/CC/A4 etc – would really like an RS4
• 3-4 Retro VWs – so ideally a Beetle + Kombi + Type 3 and then maybe a MK1-2?
• Any other tastefully ‘out there’ VAGs
• I also need some tastefully modified Jap/Holden/Fords – but I may be able to take care of this closer to home
What do you have to do?
Firstly if you’re interested please register your interest below and post a picture of how your car is NOW and whether it will remain the same or very similar within the next 6-8 weeks. You will be able to give up at least an hour of your time in and around Melbourne on either Saturday January 11th or Sunday January 12th if your car has a role in the production. You will be happy to sign a disclosure form related to the ads terms and conditions found here: {{ metaTitle }} - basically consenting for your car to be used in the ad. Your car must not have visibly ‘illegal’ modifications…I use the term illegal loosely because I’m a film maker, not a cop and I have no idea what modifications are legal/illegal - but if you have some concerns over this, PM me and we’ll see what we can do to make your car legal.
To summarise – this thread is for people who want to be involved in this production, to input ideas, assist with filming or provide cars. To fit my selection criteria it’s going to help if I already know you or your car (vice versa) or you’re referred to me by people I do know and you have a good reputation, I do not want to be messed around by unreliable people and the shoot is certainly not for hero drivers who intend to drive dangerously. This is a legit ad showing off the positive aspects of car modification – not the negatives. If I do happen to win the competition, those involved will take a share of this – probably in car related gifts of a decent value, and a Blu-Ray/DVD copy of the ad and footage of your car. I will also put some of the money into our Border VW Show – V-Dubs in the Square to further enhance our scene.
