  • Tinting recommendations in Melbourne?

    Hi all,
picking up my MK7 golf on next week so would appreciate some recommendations for window tinting.
Read poor reviews for tint professor, bad service on warranty issues.
also some bad reviews for tint-a-car as well.

People told me the FM/AM antenna is on the rear window on the mk7, so i would need carbon tint instead of metal tint etc...
premium elite from tint professor sounds attractive as its all carbon based material, but again warranty worries me.

anyone in Melb please give me some advice, as long as the tine and warranty is good!
    thanks in advance!

    Hey mate,

I read the reviews for Tint Professor as well and it put me off but...

I used them anyway on my 2 previous cars. I paid $295 for premium 35% tint.

Found them to be great, great tint and great service.

I make a mistake by winding down the window and ruining the tint, they swung by the day after, took the car and had it back for me by the end of the day, no charge.

Tint Professor Moorabbin were awesome to me, will be using them again on the Golf.

Yea it was the Rockstar Premium tint darkest legal.

They picked the car up, got the work done and had it back before I finished work.

        Great bunch of guys!

Darren from Dr Tint has done all my/my partners/my mates cars for years and have never had a single issue. Much much cheaper than the big chains, lifetime warrantee, will go as dark as you want, and will come to you. 0432124149

I'm picking up my car soon, so I'll be booking my car with Rob Tait in Ringwood.

I've heard super things about him and many people here and other car forums will vouch for him.

I think you'll find that Rob will want the door trims to be removed by the dealer - I've know Rob for many years, and he's not terribly keen on the door trims in the current VW's, as they tend to be a bastard to remove and re-fit...

Don't quote me on this, but usually around the $200 mark, possibly a little under. I paid a bit more for my current car as it's a wagon
