Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

DSG Recall - Anyone already done it?

Sometimes just doing the DSG reset procedure makes the car drive heaps better for ~a week without changing any parts. After changing the parts they have to do this reset procedure anyway. As time passes the DSG continues to adapt and behave differently. Funny this morning on the 10 minute commute to the train station I noticed by DSG was silky smooth and responsive compared to the usual cold start behaviour.

they also confirmed gearbox basically now has another 2 yr warranty on it as clutch packs and mech unit have been replaced.

The reason I ask is I have been told they are doing older / higher Km's vehicles first...
As mine has less than 10,000km's - they indicated that I could be waiting until the campaign ends.
That is in March 2014...Last edited by ope126; 21-08-2013, 01:48 PM.MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)

Just got my car back after the recall and replacement of mechatronics.
Don't ask me if it feels any better because the only thing that's noticeable (stands out like a sore thumb) is the [temporary] loss of my DSG tune software. By the time the oil had warmed up I'd had enough of D going for the highest gear possible and went for the paddles again.
Will have to give Dean a visit soon

booked in 1 month ago and sent car(118TSI) in yesterday and got it back same day.
no rattles in low gear, but hard to get to 7th gear, stay in lower gear, maybe its not warm enough?
by the way, nothing is too specified on the sheet, just recall campaign is done, etc.Last edited by roy; 17-09-2013, 09:10 AM.
