  • Mud flaps

    Are they a thing of the past or do people still put them on new cars? I still struggle with them not being standard equiment on any make of car.

    I fitted them to my R32. I used GTi flaps and softened the rear set with a heat gun to make it mold to the shape of the little kick-out the r32 and Pirelli bumper has.
    08 MY09 R32, DBP, DSG, GIAC, R8V10 reps, KW V3, RNS510/VIM/BT/MDI, region free DVD, switched Haldex, s2t paddles,HPA dogbone rubber,Mk7 climatronics, FIS+, Adams/RDA discs & Hawk pads, Garage button, GruppeM. Front fogs, Milltek. CF Chin spoiler.Strut support. LEDs Alloy front suspension bits.....

      I use these Mini Splash guards on my Golf R, not too big but still do a good job

        Well VW are offering me a huge discount on a set of 4 installed on my mk7 Golf. $300. May cancel the order after seeing that.

              Yeah i still think mud flaps are a good idea, when i got my MY00 WRX i ordered it with molded mudflaps and had them colour coded along with the side skirts and so on, looked really good. With my R they don't have any available and most of the after market ones i have seem are HUGE, just way too ugly.

                I just got rear ones at $80 (or was it $80 x2) from the dealer to help reduce the dirt on the back. You should eventually find the OEM ones on eBay pretty cheap.
                Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.
