Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hoist contact in Melbourne? Anyone got one they trust?

    Hey all,

I am having a new ubershed build at our place and as part of the deal I wanted to get a cat hoist installed. From the googling around it becomes pretty clear that a 2nd hand molnar which appear to be worth 1.5k - 2k is what i'm looking for rather than the myriad of chinese built units out there.

Does anyone out there know anyone in Melbourne in the hoist came who we trust so i can try and get one?

    TIA

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

From my days on the LS1 forum one of the members did hoist and was good for second hand. Richard 0402272944, Sydney based but Melb is no problem.

Keep in mind that any second hand hoist you buy may require expensive servicing to be safe to operate.
I would think you would be better off buying one of the brand new worksafe approved chinese units for similar money.

I would rather pay for maintenance on an Aussie built unit to be honest.. That's not an issue if I can find the right one, money well spent
Thanks for the contact, I will give him a call. He does Sydney and Melbourne too hey?
