Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I work across the road at the parachute school and my mate is the head crew chief on the AE109's, sadly they won't let us jump out of them.

That looks freakin awesome!! How did you get that light effect with a LED lead light? And go behind the car without actually seeing your movement?

just had an LED mechanics light (lead light) and walked around the cars with the light facing the lens during a long exposure night shot. because i was in dark clothing, it was a long exposure, and i kept moving, there is no sign of me in the photo but just the trail of light in my hand. exposure was about 12 seconds....it was pitch black in that part of the car park. very easy to do.

                            • That's a great effect.. Gonna hold onto that idea for the Brisbane photo shoot (or you could just come along ).

Freaky how you're invisible in the photos though....

Set the camera to be less sensitive to light (lowest ISO setting, high aperture value). That way if you're moving, the camera won't be able to capture all the light you're reflecting off at any given position!
