Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi all.
ill preface these pics with the fact that they are not my best work, but after a hdd crash, im now starting again.
first pic is of the ACME racing F1 power boat, on Sydney harbour march 2008
1/2000 sec
F7.1
300MM
ISO 400
Canon EOS 350D
second is a shot i took of a Naval helicopter taken at the air show at HMAS Albatross. cant remember the type of helicopter it was.
1/500 sec
F10
205mm
ISO 200
Canon EOS 350D
the above photo's have been substantially reduced in size.
as they are way too big for the forum.
i have had an interest in photography for many years, i had heaps of better pictures than these, but i had a drive fail a few years back.....
i intend to start taking more pictures, i had some really good storm shots too.
i love taking (or trying to) photo's of lightning.....

me too (now).
i have two external drives, both 1TB seagate freeagents.
lesson learned.
i have plans to set up a NAS box at home, with 6 1TB drives in RAID 5.
that should almost guarantee my file integrity in future. till then, the externals will do.
ill post more pics soon...

i emailed a few friends, and have had some of my pictures recovered recently.
this is one of my better automotive shots.
it was taken with a sony Cybershot (cant remember exactly what version) but it was a 5MP camera with a swivel body, and 58mm lens.

Went outside a little after midnight last night and was greated by the most beautiful site. So quite, so still, it was eerie and beautiful. I had to take a picture before going to bed. I rushed a bit, did a 10sec exposure without a tripod so it could have been better, but I was tired.
Midnight Mist...

Nice! Enderle "Birdcatcher" injector hat with BDS billet 6/71 supercharger..
Woah wait.. Scratch that. It's a draw through carbie setup with a fake catcher over it..Last edited by Preen59; 22-06-2009, 06:13 PM.
