cheers guys. those photos were actually taken aboard my mates boat at last years redbull air race. he moored next to my boat. it was a brand new 48 foot riviera offshore with twin 680hp Cummins turbo diesels...
^ those turbos develop over 40 PSI of boost at WOT @ 2700 rpm
Hahahaha...I have worked on those engines when I worked at Cummins in Darwin...Great engines too.
lol really? my mate is a mechanic at Cummins in Perth... he reckoned getting the rocker covers off were a bitch on those engines.
still he was pretty excited to be in the engine room
Thanks mate! I took the bike (MTB, not moto ) shot with the old 'slow shutter and zoom' method with the extra twist of two flashes bungeed to trees either side of the rider. The flashes help to freeze and really define the rider, while everything not lit by the flash gets blurred.
I've read about using flash to "freeze" the action when using a slow shutter - that's incredible work for an action shot! VERY creative!
Awesome Photos Phil...Hope you didn't have to worry too much about FOD or Roo's all the way out there. The new paint schemes look nice on the H models too. Better than the old Cam scheme.

paint scheme???......what paint scheme.....it's diarrhoea green
Hahahahaha...Thr RAAF repainted all of there 'H' model Hercules about 18 months ago in the Low Visibility Green and Gray scheme... It suits it alot better.
I have a real thing for the old Hercy Buses, but you don't want to travel in one when you are vry hung over...The constant droning really hurts!!
