  • Ridiculous dealer service. Avoid Lennock in Woden ACT

A big regret took the car into a dealer service today, It's 60,000km major service for 2011 Tiguan with 7sp DSG.

Usually I would bring the car into CVWC in Belconnen but those guys are extremely tight on schedule and I am in a hurry as going to travel soon, so I thought to give a try to Lennock (did couple of times for my wife's nissan there, ok experience).

Result: 1st, only when pickup the car at the end of day I was told they ran out of spark plugs so another service has to be booked around two weeks later when plugs restock. Fair enough, I take that.
2nd, $805 invoice listed engine oil/filter and air filter changed, NO DSG oil !!! Questioned to the reception guy, "oh, the mechanic forgot to do it, I apologize. I can book another service for you and charge will be about $700."

No way I will return to this very un-professional, rip-off dealer.

That is very poor to not do the DSG oil as per schedule.
What would happen if you did not remind them and had a problem with the DSG? (mind you that is unlikely... LMAO )
I read in another thread where VW were refusing a DSG warranty because the oil was not changed at 60'000.

Unfortunately, not the first time I've heard a negative story about Lennock Woden.

Update: just received two phone calls from a guy in Lennock said he saw my post on their facebook site ( it's not a compliment post i can tell ya ) and offered remediation, ask me to bring the car back at ANYTIME and they gonna fix up all problems with no extra charge. I will see how it goes. Love facebook.

Is the 7DSG in the Tiguan a dry or wet clutch model? That would affect any "oil" change it may/may not need.

I'm sure they will resolve for you. I've been using them last three times. Each time good. Tried the Belconnen VW dealer and they were pitiful.

I have to say it's been a good experience to deal with Lennock Motor this time. George is a nice person to deal with and he's willing to hear what customer say and he cared. Will I go back there? Definitely will if they keep up this high standard.

Learning new knowledge, thanks guys. Now I can confirm I know my car has a DQ500 web clutch DSG and it needs oil change every 60,000km.
