Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf Recall DSG issues

Has anyone had a recall notice from their dealer yet? Not sure how many cars are being recalled due to DSG (loss of power) issues but my dealer says my Golf R 2011 DSG isn't one of them. However, I have experienced a "false neutral", as I know some you have too, on several occations in fact the last time it happened was at lunchtime today. 3rd gear, "Manual Mode" going through a roundabout and sure enough the car justs starts revving with no drive. after about 15 seconds it sorted itself out but she's no fun when you have traffic behind you. It is dangerous and I have raised it with my dealer (Bill Buckle Brookvale) who said they've never heard of the problem before... of course!

anyone with the same issue? I need some back-up

    PS webmaster,
please don't flick this to the end of the "DSG likes and dislikes" thread I think this is a current issue that should stay here for a little while.
    Thanks

To date, there is no product recall for any DSG transmission on the Australian market.

As per above, there is no recall active at present for DSGs in Australia.
