Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Diverter Valve

    Hi all,
Im new here. Start learning something here.
My first question is where i can find a Diverter Valve for Audi TT 225?
I've checked lots of spare parts places and was told to check at Dealership.
Meanwhile, lots of ppl have been telling me this Diverter Valve is around $60 bucks? is this true or not?
If not, how much is tt 225's diverter valve? and where can i get that from except dealership?
    Any clues will be great!

    Cheers

The 710n is the latest version of the standard plastic version. I have never had one so can't vouch for longevity. I have used many ebay specials and believe them to be troublefree and operate as advertised for years.

Sorry to butt in here, but while on this subject, does anybody know what can be gained from running a 710N valve reversed? Just something i've seen people do on other sites but never knew why

what can be gained from running a 710N valve reversed? Why?
I also heard of some ppl changing the N75 valve to N75J valve but I don't know why and what can be gained from changing that?
Sorry to bother you again, Gavin. Appreciate.

Not to be a **** but these questions can be answered quite easily by google. IMO there is not point installing a diaphram valve backwards. It's supposed to help hold the boost better but the k03 can't really put out much boost anyways

Google is your friend, never had a 710N and I wouldn't dream of second guessing VW by fitting it backwards.

Don't blow money on another N75 either unless yours has been proven to dead. Still don't get the J, if you want power get it tuned properly.

ok. that's clear again. jst because too many ppl have too many opinions and really don't know who is real honest.
for example, by tuning it properly, for a k03 car, it can get ard 143kw and 325Nm from chipping the ecu but im worry abt the transmission because lots of ppl were saying that mq 250 and mq 350 can't hold more than 250Nm and 350Nm respectively. However, some ppl say that don't worry abt the transmission...it's confusing because i jst want to know whether the transmissions mentioned above can hold that much power frm chipping the ecu or not. if not, at least i can prepare for that...
                            So ur suggestions, Gavin?

                            Really appreciate...
