  • Recommended Painter's in and around Brisbane area

    Hey all!

Gee it has been a while since I have been on here! Its changed a bit too!

As some of you know but most wouldn't care, I have sold the VR to move back into my old territory which is Alfa's! I know I can hear some of you groaning now thinking what an idiot!!! Well until you own one....you will never know the joy of how exciting it is to hear the car actually start!

Anyway getting away from stupidity, I have a question for some of you out there, and that is, does anyone know of any good painters out there? I have had lots of work done by AMS (Advanced motorcycle spray painting) but thye have since changed owners and only do insurance work now.....So my question is, is there any good painters and body workers out there that anyone knws about?

    Cheers

    Coxy

P.S Sorry about the spelling mistakes, I have a broken finger!

If I had cause to have some panel/paint done, I would go here ....

    Hadwen's Prestige Collision Repairs

I have no personal experience with them, but they have a good rep.

The thought had crossed my mind, I know it doesnt matter if it's an alfa or dub or even BM, good people are hard to find. I remember Trezza used to go ti AMS too....Anyone else know of any one?

Thanks for the heads up guys, I will give them a bell.

had a quote done at champs body works as recommended, will likely go with them when I get the cash together. Very impressed with the quoted price (half as much as another mob I went to) but cant say anything yet about the quality of work until i have it done. Will let you know how it turns out

Not going to be cheap. They used to be the audi preffered repairer. Usually full of ferrari & porsches.
I got a huge dent taken out of the floor sill for about 700 a few years back.
Not from fiji, just changed flag a while back when on holidays.

You could get a quote from Toowong Smash repairs as well, Tim. One of Dads mates has had old alfas his entire life and has always taken them to that lot. Theyre straight up and Brett Baker, the son/ grandson of the blokes who started it is still there running the show. He won't try and force you into anything expensive and listens to the job that you want done and If he can reduce the cost at all. For example, I'm cleaning up some rust and prepping a spot and he's just going to blend it in on the VR6 and is going to do some touch ups for free.

I had a stone dent/chip in my bonnet fixed by Shipstones. They did a good job and the price seemed pretty reasonable. Customer service was good.

A word from the wise with Potenza's...once they get hot be prepared for the car to loose grip! This was illustrated quite clearly on one of our runs a few years back down to the boarder and back and the poor VR was more sideways than a S15 on the track. People will confirm that story too lol.

Ku31's I hear are fantastic but not so good in the wet....I've never tried them but see how you go!

I had s drives on my vr6 when I bought it. They were great. It was the same day I had them changed to cheap tyres that I wrote the car off...
