Morning all,

Firstly I own an 09 Golf 118 TSI 29,000 km's.

The engine has been replaced within the first year, DSG had a clutch pack replacement, Leather seats be re-upholstered, supercharger squeel has been looked at 100 times, Car still gets a slight shudder since the Clutch pack was done.

Now that that's out of the way, Got into my car last night and the engine wont even attempt to turn over - Turn the key to start her up and it's silent briefly before a warning sound comes on and it displays three warning lights:

-Exhaust
-Alternator
-EPC

It seems i'm going to have to get it towed back to Camberwell VW however this is going beyond a joke. After the initial engine replacement I requested that as they sold me a "Lemon" I would be looking to have some sort of replacement. Since then my car has been back to the dealership countless times and I have had no success negotiating an upgrade to the GTI as the figures I have been given by the dealer principal are at best a slap in the face.

My car is now six months out of the manufacturers warranty however I purchased the Extended warranty that was marketed as the next best thing to the manufacturers warranty.

Unfortunately I no longer feel that I can continued to be pushed aside by VW. I am hoping that someone can provide me with contact information of a staff member within VW Australia that can assist me with some form of compensation, as I have persevered for far too long with a sub-par vehicle.

All Warranty claims have been processed through the same dealership (Camberwell VW). At the time of writing this I have been informed that the issue revolves around the Mechatronics transmission. This is now being replaced so you can add that to the list of why I believe I purchased a $42,000+ lemon!

The Supercharger squeal is common for that engine. To my knowledge, there has been no proper resolution to it, other than replacement of the water pump, and hope for the best.

DSG issues are also common, be it the Mechatronics, or the clutches.

The leather upholstery issue is a subjective one. Won't go there.

I fail to see how the car is a lemon. All problems can be resolved. It's how they're resolved that leave the lasting impression.

I do not understand why people moan so much about these issues, aslong as they get fixed suck it up... It amazes and amuses me that people think they can extort a company to give them a new vehicle, or a payout for that matter because they think they bought a 'lemon'. What a joke if you ask me.. What absurd reasoning does anyone have to 'demand' a brand new car, or the total payout the car was worth at purchase when the car is older than 3 years.. Honestly, no-one understands just how good VW are in terms of warranty. Hyundai for example, boast a 5 year warranty, although the catch with that warranty is that you MUST get your car serviced at a Hyundai dealership for the whole 5 years, whereas VW don't care solong as you use genuine parts... VW provide a goodwill service in most cases - no other car manufacture on par with VW offer this... E.g: You use E10 fuel in your 118TSI or Golf R... VW will still replace th e engine for you no questions asked - I have seen this first hand, engine was destroyed due to 91 fuel being put in a 95RON minimum VW, Volkswagen replaced the engine knowing that the fuel was the cause with no questions or hassles, why are people so nieve these days thinking they can get their money back, I go to KFC don't get quality chips, they RECTIFY the issue not refund, same priniciple. Cuppa cement. Thats my 2 cents.
