Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Help tracking new vehicle

    Hi all,

Hoping this is the right section in the forum to ask for this help, but is anyone a dealer able to search a COMM number for me, and tell me at what stage my car is at?

The dealer where I have ordered the car from, have given me 4 different answers on 4 different phone calls, and the latest one is that it is in the country, but they cannot give me the VIN.

Anyone that is able to help, or has a contact that can help, please PM me.

    Thanks in advance,

They really can give you the VIN; they're likely choosing not to for some reason.

If the car is in the country, it won't be easily trackable via usual means anyway. The car will be handled by Patricks for compliance, and then shipped to the dealer for pre-delivery prep.

      Thanks Adam,

I understand that if I had the VIN that would be the case, but when I called up 2 weeks ago, they had said the car was still waiting to be built, so ideally I would like someone other than my own dealer to tell me, or send me a screen shot of what is actually going on, and what stage it is up to.

If you were told 2 weeks ago that it's yet to be built, then it is many, many months away from arriving in Australia, yet alone being delivered.

I suggest you have a read of the info in the above link, and insist that someone at the dealership gives you the info you're requesting, via NADCON. You've bought a car... You should be entitled to know how long you have to wait for it.

          Thanks Adam,

Will try an email to the dealership, and copy in the dealer principal, in the hope that answers can be obtained.
I just sold my car today, so knowing when the replacement is coming is just slightly more important now.
