I think that's why i like the US version more.
The presenters are more personable and i find i can relate to them better.

Also, they tend to drive regular cars and Rutlege is an active member of the vwvortex forum.

As an audiophile I guess having two musical artists back to back was interesting. How often do you get a female petrolhead

Yep. it's more about some guys enjoying cars and having a laugh together rather than living up to their "controversial" media personas.

I never thought I would say this, but a US version of a UK TV show is more enjoyable.

Latest US Ep is out now.
Seems to be a copy of the UK episode but i found it more funny and it had me laughing out loud for quite a few parts.

I don't mind copying the theme but to have Tanner copy James and Adam copy Jeremy is a bit much. Still a good watch though.

Good episode today, reviewed a bunch of hatchbacks being discussed on these forums as GTI alternatives. Jeremy liked the Astra VXR.

I thought it was a very good episode actually.
The final test of the Kia's went on a bit long and was very similar to a previous ep but the star segment was actually watchable for me.

I thought everyone knew the Megane 275 or whatever it's called wasn't a top speed car but built for the twisties hence it's lap time.

Interesting review of the Mastrata, just goes to show that you can have small engine RWD fun toys that keep a very good pace.

I also enjoyed the latests episode. It felt like an old episode, and not so much zany, pizzaz etc, just more normal top gear. Loved the final test for the Kia.

The US episodes have been getting better and better, was really interesting to see the stock car vs super car part.

Haven't seen the first half of the UK special, was going to wait until i had both halves.

It's a great episode. I'm definitely looking forward to the conclusion, but it's not like part 1 doesn't stand up on its own as a good piece of entertainment.

Fifth Gear compared the Mk6 GTI against the 265 Megane, Astra VXR, and Focus ST

I'm not a fan of their knockout format since you don't get to see all cars perform in all the challenges. The GTI was kocked out first in the agility challenge (even though the Astra didn't have a handbrake). Only mildly disappointed since the Mk6 GTI is by far the oldest car there.
