Any updates on the extended warranty because I rang VW Aus today and they mention nothing of an extended warranty on drivetrains DSG?

Interesting.Originally posted by ziggyboy View PostAs I've mentioned in another thread, I think VW has withdrawn the 5 year drivetrain warranty. It's gone from their warranty documentation online.
Agree it's definitely disappeared off VW website, but I had a dealer confirm, in email, that it would apply to a vehicle I had enquired about.

That page is still there: FAQ
But you need to have the saved link/google search.. can't see how you get to it from the VWA site anymore.
That's a pretty airy 'promise' to rely on, so unless I had something in writing signed by VWA I don't think I'd be trusting them to live up to it, especially given their form in this area over recent time.

I was advised today that the 5 year DSG warranty ends in the next month or two, which explains why the information is no longer linked on the VWA site.
Apparently the dealers have received notification on this - so basically now's the time to pick up a new DSG if you want the extra two years peace of mind.
VWAs line is it was for marketing only and there is nothing inherently wrong with the DSG.
(If that was the case I'm sure a lot of us would be happy to take the 10 year deal from overseas!)
