Stage 2 came when I buried my foot into the carpet and the other cam kicked in In no way was the car fast, but is was light and great fun in the twisties, and it could keep up with most average cars. Then one day I was behind a Mk5 Golf which left me for dead pulling away from an intersection.
To a lot of people these cars are just A to B machines so they really don't care/probably don't even know that they should be running anything else. I know if I had a new car or one with an engine I cared about I would definitely run 98. When I owned a vr6 I wouldn't let anything else near it (unless it was a real emergency, and even then it was just enough to get to another petrol station to get some 9, but now that I'm driving around in a gutless little 1.8L, which I plan on swapping out to my VR6 soon anyway so I really don't care about the motor, I always just run the cheapest I can get. I've tried the more expensive fuels in it and it makes no difference to anything, just costs more, and with petrol being the price it is, it's hard to justify the extra cost of premium fuels for such a ****ty motor haha.
