Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Pink slip issue

  • Pink slip issue

I'm hoping for some assistance please.

I have recently purchased a car which passed a pink slip e report inspection.

Less than 60km's later and after a trip to another mechanic he advises that all brakes are metal to metal and totally illegal.

What can I do in terms of getting garage to remedy the problem? The garage I had the report done at is now over 700km's away and impossible to get it there. Apparently it's going to cost over $700 to fix including a couple of other items my mechanic believes should not have been passed.

Does anyone have experience of something similar? And if so, what happened?

I will be speaking to rta and my solicitor shortly if I don't get a satisfactory response from the so called AIS in Sydney.

    Thanks
Working...
