Ok, if I get the Galaxy, blue or white? Really nice if there was a black one or metal/glass etc. (can always get a case huh)

Blue Galaxy, black gel case is ahead atm.

I use only Otterbox now. Better than gell case, then the colour doesn't matter.

I came from the Galaxy S - which had 2.3.4 custom ROM on it. Upgraded to the SIII surrounded by an otter case 2 weeks ago. I skipped the SII role out as I was on a 24 month contract and the step up was massive difference.

I was a little hesitant with the idea of the bigger screen and battery life - but with the 2100mah battery I can easily get a day and a bit worth of use games browsing and texting with the occasional phone call. I played around with the HTC One X and didn't like the idea of not being able to remove the battery, no expandable sd slot and I wasn't the biggest fan of the HTC sense compared to the latest Touchwizz from Samsung.

Only thing I would have liked was 4G but doesn't look like it is on the horizon until later this year from Optus.

Been with Optus from 2002, they have been pretty good overall, but I walked because of the general disinterest of the store and the slightly higher price with no obvious benefit. Let's see how Vodafone goes.

Ordered a blue s3, have a grey metal back ordered already and will probably get some sort of case/ otter.

I WILL have a short bout of buyers remorse at some stage and regret not getting the iSheep, but I figured I'd mix it up.

Cheers for the suggestions, it did help, now to wait at the door for the courier like a hungry Labrador at 5:00pm that's just heard a car pull up.

Telstra should be 4G on S3.

I recall hearing it isn't 4G (yet). There is a 4G version of the S2 though.

From what I've read some Telstra branded smart-phones are pre-tuned to work better on the 850MHz frequency used by Telstra NextG so they'll have better speeds than unlocked imported phones or those from other carriers.

No S3 4G atm only the S2 - Telstra have the HTC One XL on 4G but it is the dual core version not the quad.

im currently running HTC velocity 4G with telstra and its the best phone ive used. Absolutely faultless and is quick. Dual core 1.5ghz with 1gig ram. 4G is epic. I get downloads at 20-28mb/s

before that i had a HTC desire for 2 years and that was faultless over the 2years i had it. Only problem with them is the battery life. 1 day max.

Samsungs feel cheap, light and plastic in your hands. Id never buy anything but a HTC from now on.

Dont even start me on iphones hahahahaha.

Nice speeds there. I don't suppose they'd go down though when more people acquire 4G devices???

I ordered a brushed metal back with the logo on it to make it feel a little more premium, main reason I didn't go HTC is friends told me not to as theirs sent messages multiple times, sometimes to the wrong people, would resend month old messages etc. probably just the early versions, or what ever the operating system was at the time... but that was about 3 or 4 people, and I didn't feel like an 'I told you so' moment, I did a fair amount of research and seems the Samsung and apple as a package overall seem like they are the leaders and again as a package overall. I'd still go what ever iPhone is out when the 24 months is up if it's good, unless I turn into an android person, but remember in the early 2000s the 'apple people' how they'd try and sell you apple like it was a cult...I don't buy into that sort of blind brand loyalty.... not even for VW... maybe for VW.

                            Samsung Galaxy Note here.
Love the functionality the phablet offers.

Big enough to use as an e-reader, small enough to fit in my pocket.
                            Would reccomend.

Normal sized Golf's and normal sized phone's aren't big enough for you?

I'm starting to see a trend here

Why have 2 products to do 2 things when i can compromise and have 1 that does both things well enough
                                This way i don't ned an iPod+iPhone+iPad

Prior to the Note i had the HTC Dream (first Google phone), have no issues with HTC, they make quality gear from my experience.
