Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I heard it was due to the the carbon sequestering forcing the fault line to shift
That big fault line around Moe is bound to let loose one day

Don't they mine coal or something up there at the power station? Relatives live up that way.

yep. the town continually slides into it every year. i cant rmemeber the measurement but it was a serious number when you get thinking about it.
the highway was closed over summer due to heavy rain it started to break up as it moved closer to the cut.

                Subject: MOE EARTHQUAKE FOLLOW UP

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Moe at 9pm Tuesday, with its epicentre in Haigh Street. The earthquake decimated the area causing approximately $30.00 worth of damage.

Victims were seen wandering around aimlessly, muttering "Faaackinell". Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their centre link cheques arrived.

The Moe local paper has reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Moe.

One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 3 said "It was such a shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into lounge room crying. My youngest two, Kevin and Julia slept through it all."

Apparently looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried on as normal.

The Australian Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Bacardi-Breezers to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including Health Care Cards, moccasins and Bone China from Big W.

                HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster.

Clothing most sought after - baseball caps, Adidas tracksuits, singlets (blue & white) white sport socks, moccasins and Collingwood scarves.

Parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same. Required foodstuffs urgently needed include: Microwave meals, Baked beans,
                Ice cream, Chips, Soft Drinks.

Donations of $15.00 will be taken to buy a packet of Winny Blue 25s and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.

so Moe is to Melbourne what Rockingham is to Perth...
This was circulating over here after the storm a couple of weeks ago:

                    FW: Rockingham Storm Appeal

Torrential rain and strong winds hit Rockingham in the early hours of last night.

Victims were seen wandering around aimlessly, flannies soaked, woollen trackies sagging, muttering 'Faaackinell'.

Flood waters devastated the area causing approximately $30 worth of damage.

Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their Centrelink cheques arrived.

The Rockingham Times reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Read St.

One resident - Tracy Maree Sharon Britney Madonna Skye-Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 5 said 'It was such a shock, my little daughter Chardonnay-Mercedes came running in to my bedroom crying. My youngest two Joachim and River slept through it all.' The water rushed in the front door and out the back – it was amazing, the place has never been so clean!”

Apparently, looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried on as normal.

The Australian Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Bacardi-Breezers to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including Health Care Cards, Jewellery from Kmart and Bone China from Big W.

                    HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most sought after - items most needed include: flannelette Shirts, tight blue jeans or spandex, singlets (blue & white) white sport socks, Ugg boots, hoodies and any other items usually sold in Priceline or The Reject Shop.

Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same.
Donations of $25.00 will be taken to buy a packet of Winny blue 25s and a lighter and cans of Jim Bean to calm the nerves of those affected.
