  • Windscreen wiper came off??? help?

    Hi all,

On my way home in the pissing rain on a packed motorway, one of my wipers decided to scare the living s..t out of me by 'breaking' off. Having a clean car helps when driving in the pissng rain with no wipers!

Haven't had a good look at it yet but curious to now if anyone else has had the wiper come out while driving and what the problem was. I think it might've broken a clip that holds it in. The wiper blade still slide into the holder but feels a little loose and doesn't stay in???</div><div><br /></div><div>Any ideas? Oh, and where do they stock new ones?

    Cheers all...

    Me.

It's done that because they spooked me twice!!

    Can you do a picture?

    VW will obviously have them.

Yeah, having dinner and then I'll go out and figure it out... Not sure if VW parts are open weekends?

          Thanks Clay, forever the optimist!

The little tab on the blade is broken, won't hold any pressure... Now I think it would be good for me to get some rainx applied too!

Had a quick look and Austral spare parts is only open during the week.

Highway/Norris VW are also closed on weekends.

Bryan Byrt was the only one that didn't have opening hours.

All sorted, new front blades from highway auto.

The new DSG tune must make me go so fast the wipers can't handle it!

Have you driven it in S mode yet? What's your impression of it? Frazza must have had a big night, no reply yet??

Driven it for a bit in s mode. It's hard to describe. S mode now revs more sensibly rather than just going all out and it picks the right gears to use. I could now drive around all day in s mode. In saying that, if you move your right foot in the slightest of downward motion, it knows you want to go and is ready for it, very responsive.
