Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rare vinyl/autographs, where to sell?

A mate of dads wants us to help him sell:

An original: Abbey Road, signed by all Beatles, and has a certificate of authenticity (obviously further research needs to be done to establish if this is legit).
Basically going google mad trying to find the right channel to sell this. But, does anyone have any experience with autographs and vinyl. I have an idea of what sort of money he's expecting, but I'm keen to learn more about the process before anything else.

    eBay?

Or try the local hifi forum:

I would approach an auction house.

Ebay is a buyer's market in this current economic climate.
MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.

I say eBay too. Set a reserve if he has a price in mind of what he's happy with.
It's a case of it being worth as much as someone is willing to pay, you need a private buyer here, not a dealer who'll just buy it to make money off you!
Anyone who is after something like that will be looking out for it on eBay for sure, i go there looking for rare vinyl all the time.

Mate, I would join a beatles collectors forum (such as Beatles Collecting). Or I's sure there would be heaps of them on the net. This will help you get some advice on its authenticity and value.
