Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Buying from Germany (Ebay)

Has anyone had any luck with buying things out of Germany.

Seems most sellers wont ship outside Gremany or Europe. Anyone have any contacts or is there a 3rd party that can come into play

Looking at getting some big items, guessing it will be too hard, seats, spoiler etc

Tell me your ideas and experences.

It's worth sending a message to a seller and asking them, most Germans can speak English i've found. I bought a set of wheels off eBay.de when i lived in the UK, and nearly got a set sent to Australia but lost the auction. Both of them hadn't listed them as willing to post worldwide.

Also i've bought a lot of stuff from ARZ Tuning in Germany, they were really good to deal with and most thing arrived within a week.

My sister lives in Germany. I could ask her whether she'd be comfortable on-sending something for you, but she's only a little ballerina so I don't know how she'd go carrying a seat!

Wasn't there a member who recently offered up his services as a German resident.

It's not easy, and eBay.de requires a paypal account, so often the seller will just lie and say they have one.

When I lived in the UK I used to get stuff sent backwards and forwards using this shipping company,

                          Paketversand ab

Might be of some use once you sort out how to purchase the stuff you want.

                          Prices were always good.

                          Hope it might help.

Thanks, turns out a Bumper is $$$ to post as the size of it. Its not just calculated on weight, it seems to go on volume too

900 Euro to post one lol
