anyone has ever done a Gumball style race East - West coast?

Just hypothetical speaking, would people be game enough to do this in this age of "impounding vehicles & shredding them"?

The Cannonball Run was attemped in the NT in 1994. One Ferrari F40 crash resulted in 4 deaths...

Too dangerous... you're in enough trouble if you hit a kangaroo at legal speeds, let alone at high speed. And no matter how good a driver you might be, and no matter how good your car, there are other road users out there with the intellectual ability of a small rodent - and you have to share the road with them.

It's a romantic idea, but the world's moved on.
