Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Need something TIG welded in Sydney - Can anyone help?

I have a custom aluminium inlet plenum I have fabricated, the only part I can't do is weld it up. Is there someone in Sydney who can lay some nice TIG on aluminium and would be willing to weld this up (this was an early shot, the fab work is all done now)? I will pay of course - money/beer anything within reason The only thing is I kind of have to be there when it is welded so I can place things exactly where they need to be while they are tacked.

Things required to be welded are basically what you see - plenum to plenum base, plus end cap and TB flange, and a support bracket on the back.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Contact Alex G. He will sort it out I am pretty sure, and if not will be able to point you the right way. PM me if you need his phone number.

I like what I see Arno!

Job done! Thanks again Alex G, an absolutely awesome job, even the weld on the cast looks good which is no mean feat. The photo doesn't do it justice, the quality of the weld on the TB flange and some of the brackets on the bottom is faultless.

No worries Arno , would love to see the rest of the set up.
I'm sure others would appreciate a gt28 boosted abf mk1.
        Post em up bro.
