Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Workshop for Camper van Conversions in Queensland?

    Hey guys,

I need new rear windows as the previous ones are leaking and the install doesn't seem to be done too well at all (blame the installers in VIC). As the Windows are nearly 10 years old, it might be time to get some new ones done.

I'm having a hard time finding experienced (T4) window fitters or conversion workshops in (North-) Queensland. Townsville/Cairns would suit me best, for the right workshop I'd be happy to travel also further south to get it done proper!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Most windscreen companies can cut/fit glass to suit your requirements. Instant windscreens did my old mini panelvan, no worries.

    Might be worth a call?

Yeah, I thought about that too. The only problem is that the current windows are quite small. The next ones should be a bit bigger so the workshop would have to remove a bit of metal as well...

        They can do that too?

Call Globe in WA, they supply these glass panels. I'm sure they could help you with a supplier/their customer local to you?
