Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Actually, the article does not show that it avoids carjacking. In the examples cited, the drivers/owners were carjacked, just that the thieves subsequently discovered the cars were manuals and so abandoned them. The cars were "carjacked", and who knows what might have happened if the drivers told the carjackers that it was a manual before they got in.

Now if you really wanted to avoid carjacking, you should have a dirty great big sticker on the car saying that it is a manual (whether it is or is not doesn't matter as we are dealing with people who are intellectually challenged). Now you only have to hope that the dumb members of the criminal classes can actually read...and understand what they are reading in their possibly drug induced state!
