90% of personalised plates look trashy and the 10% of them that are cool have already been taken.
What I hate most is people who have the name/model/colour/engine size on their plates. Why do we need to be told by the number plate that you drive a Lexus, it has a Lexus badge and you are driving at 30km/h in a 90 zone, trust me, we already know you have a Lexus.
I did see one I liked earlier this week, it was a BMW wagon with EIEIO on the plates.
Queensland has a better deal with personalised plates compared to other states. Here, it is a once only payment and the plates are better designed, especially the prestige plates.
So, Don, if you can conjure up a good one, go for it.
i saw a hilarious plate on a late 90's bmw 318i with bird sheight caked on, driven by someone who didnt know the first thing about detailing a car.... PAYRYZ.
because if you need to advertise to the world that you're fcking broke, why not do it with a plate like that, and compliment it with a facebook profile pic of you holding your last fortnight's wages in $100 bills (before you go off to the bank again to pay the rent).
try something humorous, that'll make people chuckle when they see it. there is a yellow getz getting around melbourne with SPNGBB, which is pretty rad. if ever i get some for the polo (which i wont) it'd be something like 89FWKW hahahaha (that's what i dyno'd lol).
I saw a brilliant one the other day, but cannot for the life of me remember what is was. Actually let out a little giggle.
Sorry, this is quite possibly the worlds most useless forum post ever. Hah.
Those prestige plates can look very classy, not like the cheaper ones, as long as you just put say one correctly spelt word and dont fill it with numbers etc. Theres no way I can justify the cost though, although there are countless awesome combinations avalabile.
I saw a 121 Bubble with Euro plates on the GC, claaaaaaaaaaaaaassy.
Those smaller Euro ones can look decent.
A mates mum has cool plates its just 4 digits with a space in the middle (a tennis score) on black slimline plates on a black beemer (a good one)... looks very clean.
