Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Your favourite wheels.

We have many threads on this website, and many of us lust after a particular wheel combo, on a particular car.

Lets face it; the wheels can make or break your car.

So I ask not only what gets you inspired, but what wheels get you going? What have you had, what do you want?

    Had:

BBS RW02. Polished lips, Ford Bionic blue centres.

Too much show, not enough go for me. So, I did up a set of OZ Cronos in Nissan '34 GTR Outback Gold.

    Want:
Not sure to be honest. I'll find something old, rare, desirable and no doubt, as usual, expensive. Soon.

    Discuss.

Design wise i love hte look of hte Diamond Racing wheels:
Concavity plus and they come in 4x100 and 5x100.

                        Their 5x100 15x7's weigh in at 14lb (6.35kg?)

                          Well.....

15x7.5 et20 4x100 something light would be my ultimate track Mk3 wheels. With some nice sticky 195/50/15 rubber.

These are probably my favourite set of wheels for a Mk3. The Borbet Type T:

Oz superturismo are pretty hard to beat.

                          Volkswagen Rostyle (South Africa)

Cant go past a good set of widen steelies.

I have some RS's in the works... Should be pretty cool when theyre 15x9.5

Some wheels I would really love would be Autostrada Modena's, some 3 Piece Schimdt ML's or maybe Rotiform NUE. Always thought my first fancy set of wheels would be some with 5 spokes, not sure how I ended up with rs' haha.

Of course, SSR MK2 in any sizes (MK3's are also rad as hell)

And D: all of the above

SO many wheels to own, so little time/money!
