Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    iOS 5 apple update.

    Now I'm not that clued when it comes to apples latest and greatest but just updated my iPhone and iPad to the new iOS 5 software and the changes additions are awesome.
    So if you haven't already take the 1/2hr to update, you will thank me.

    Apple - iOS 5 - 200+ new features for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
    Except siri voice recognition is **** now compared to the 3gs.

      Just make sure you turn off synching on connection for your devices before you upgrade. If the upgrade fails for any reason, it will then connect your phone and take a backup, wiping your old backup (clever Apple decided you only need 1 backup per device on the latest itunes).

      Also recommend taking a backup of your backup files before you upgrade (google it for file location).

      It's not common for this failure, but better safe than sorry.

        The company I work for actually markets an App for the iPad/iPhone and we needed to do a revision to the software to enable it to run on iOS 5...as have most other App developers. Most Apps will have an iOS 5 update but if they don't, strong chance they won't function correctly on the new OS.

        Just something to check
