I picked up my Daughter from the Airport today and was heading home along the M4 to Oxley Park, when a 4x4 towing a trailed in front of me ejected alarge polystyrene box into the air i just had time to move to the right but it still hit the left hand windscreen pillar at 100kph ,the car behind copped the full force of it and it disintegrated into a thousand pieces.
When i caught up to him and shook my fist he just ignored me , he didn't have the box tied down and at 100kph it just took off, lucky it wasn't a learner who might of swerved to miss it and caused a big accident.

The commited an offense by not having the load secured & littering.

You should have taken his number & reported it

My daughter did write down the trailer and car rego, and after inspecting my car again this morning i discovered a heap of fine scratches on the left hand side bumper and mudguard, I was able to polish them out,and as i was going down the street i decided to report the incident, The female officer took down my statement covering 3 note book pages ,and said she would investigate the incident and would call me when she done her report.

Good work reporting them, these inconsiderate people need to learn.

A few weeks ago I was driving down James Ruse Drive and some tool lost his entire load of pallets all over the road. He stopped about 30 metres up and then when he realised that his load had hit a car and blocked both lanes and half the shoulder he took off. I managed to get around the pallets and chased him up the road, he stopped at the off ramp to turn and I took a photo so I could get his number plate but when I got back to the office and looked at the photo it was too blurry to read anything.

Jacking a car up and changing a tyre,
              securing a load,
              driving with a trailer,
driving around people either towing or in an older car,
              use of lanes,
              merging etiquette,
what to do when breaking down,
what do do if a person near you breaks down

.... all of these and more can cause some very hairy situations on the road, no-one seems to pay attention to them though. I'm sure you could think of an example of each. But seems cutting off a Patrol towing a car, or getting 1mm away from a '66 Morris doing a hill-start is never a consideration.

I always do my best to go well beyond the minimum requirement for securing a load, there should never be a 'probably won't move'.

A few years ago when I was travelling on the F3 I small piece of wood, about the size of a text book came flying off the back of a Nissan Navara. I was in my car at the time which was an A4 Audi and it startled the hell out of me so I hit the brakes hard but it still hit the front of my car, lodging into the front lower grill smashing the grill in half. I never caught up to the guy or took down his plate but man i was p*ssed, the fact it could have gone though my windshield or possibly taken out a motorbike rider, worse part is he probably didn't notice or care about that it had happened.

Stuff like that pisses me off too, Got a decent sized scuff on one fender of mine when one of those house for sale signs flew out of someones ute, was in town too so wasnt even going that fast. Took me ages to get it out with the machine polisher.
